Course Description
This year long course introduces students to advanced programming concepts and object oriented programming using the C# programming language and Microsoft Visual Studio. The C# language is used extensively in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics. Students will be in the computer lab at all times writing and debugging a variety of programming assignments and projects including Windows applications and games. Object oriented programming and GUI interfaces are used throughout the course. Students will further enhance their problem solving and critical thinking skills, which are skills that can be used in any career. Work is done in a structured or independent basis depending upon skills and interest. Topics include: program structure, control structures, Boolean expressions, loops, functions, structures, files, vectors, matrices, classes, linked lists, sorting and searching techniques. Flash/Thumb drives are strongly recommended for storing work. Through the Running Start program, students can earn 3 college credits by completing this course with a C or better. |
